MUNICH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S CLUB, E.V.

We are a member of FAWCO & Open Door and through these umbrella organisations, have contact with other International Women's organizations around the world. Our membership in MING provides us rich opportunities to meet with other Munich-based organisations.

FAWCO(Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas)is one of the quiet, yet powerful gifts of joining MIWC. When you become part of our club, you also step into a global community of women living abroad who care about connection, contribution, and meaningful impact.

Founded in 1931, FAWCO now brings together 60 clubs in 30 countries. It works to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide, supports human rights, health, education, and environmental initiatives, and advocates for Americans overseas. FAWCO is also recognized on the world stage: since 1997, it has held special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, allowing its voice to influence global conversations on issues that matter.

Through the FAWCO Foundation, members have access to development grants, education awards, and opportunities to support projects around the globe.

As an MIWC member, you’re automatically a FAWCO member. You’re welcome to join workshops, conferences, cultural events, service initiatives, and international gatherings that open doors and expand your world.

If you'd like to explore more, visit FAWCO.org and if you’re curious about getting involved, we’re here at fawco@miwc.club

FAWCO established the FAWCO Foundation in 1967 to carry on its long tradition of donating to relief organizations, as well as providing educational support to members and their families.
The Foundation’s sole purpose is to put into action FAWCO’s stated interest in the global community by specifically aiding charitable, scientific and educational programs and supporting the rights of women and children throughout the world. For over 40 years, The Foundation has stayed true to this purpose.

FAWCO Clubs in Motion

Clubs in Motion was started in 2014 as a FAWCO initiative to encourage club members to form walking groups to stay physically and mentally fit.

Roxey Lau has been collecting kilometers from participating individual members and sending the totals to FAWCO Clubs in Motion. Since June 2020, we have been averaging 2,000 km per month and are now way ahead of any other club.

If you wish to contribute your kilometers, please send your total monthly result to Roxey latest by the first day of the following month. Feel free to address any questions you may have to Roxey.

FAWCO’s online magazine, Inspiring Women, profiles the lives of members of FAWCO Clubs throughout the world who have used their skills and talents to make an impact in the global community. Published quarterly, each issue has a theme and includes interviews with Club members suggested by Club Presidents, FAWCO Reps or by members like you! The magazine also contains special features, tips and hints. Guest writers are invited to submit essays offering a personal reflection on the theme. Please click here to read the latest issue. Registration for the FAWCO website is free to members of all FAWCO affiliated clubs.
