FAWCO(Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas), founded in 1931, is an international network of independent volunteer clubs and associations comprising 57 member Clubs in 28 countries worldwide. FAWCO serves as a resource and a voice for its members; seeks to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide, especially in the areas of human rights, health, education and the environment; advocates for the rights of US citizens overseas; contributes to the global community through its Teams and The FAWCO Foundation, which provides Development Grants and Education Awards. The organization is a global women’s NGO (non-governmental organization), and since 1997, FAWCO has held special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. It offers support to club leadership, scholarships for members and their family, support for charities around the world and organizes local and international events for members. Anyone who is a member of MIWC is automatically a FAWCO member and may participate in events and opportunities. Find out more from the FAWCO.org website. Free registration is required for some pages. FAWCO Clubs in MotionClubs in Motion was started in 2014 as a FAWCO initiative to encourage club members to form walking groups to stay physically and mentally fit. Roxey Lau has been collecting kilometers from participating individual members and sending the totals to FAWCO Clubs in Motion. Since June 2020, we have been averaging 2,000 km per month and are now way ahead of any other club. If you wish to contribute your kilometers, please send your total monthly result to Roxey latest by the first day of the following month. Feel free to address any questions you may have to Roxey. | FAWCO’s online magazine, Inspiring Women, profiles the lives of members of FAWCO Clubs throughout the world who have used their skills and talents to make an impact in the global community. Published quarterly, each issue has a theme and includes interviews with Club members suggested by Club Presidents, FAWCO Reps or by members like you! The magazine also contains special features, tips and hints. Guest writers are invited to submit essays offering a personal reflection on the theme. Please click here to read the latest issue. This is a Munich umbrella platform that provides an organizational interface, supports the sharing of ideas, facilitates making new friends, and stimulates learning.
